The computer will loose power if I move the power jack even when it is running on battery power. What might the problem be? It turns out that one ribbon cable which goes from the motherboard to the front panel where the LED lights are came loose. Most likely your system board was replaced before because of this problem. Can i use a universal dc jack from radioshack etc? Is there a way to fix this issue? Sometimes bad wireless card can prevent a laptop from booting normally.

Michael, You are right. Do I still need to solder the piece according toahiba your picture up top? So, check for fans. Is symptom of cold wirring? You need some skills to install a hard drive into this toshiba a75-s211. When I turned it on and attached the adapter, I smelt a burning smell, and now my laptop does not toshiba a75-s211 up at all. Are you sure that laptop shuts down because it overheats?
